Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that insist the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans, or we can say that Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that aims to create intelligent machines. Types of Artificial Intelligence (AI)– AI can be classified in any number of ways there are two types of main classification.
1.Weak AI or Narrow AI- It focuses on a narrow task and can build machines that are not intelligent enough to do their job. For example, a poker game where a machine attacks a human, where all laws and motions are fed into the machine. All possible scenarios must be entered manually here. Every weak AI contributes to the creation of a strong AI.
2.Strong AI- Machines that can think and act independently as humans. There are no proper examples for this, but some industry leaders really want to get closer to building a strong AI, which will lead to faster progress.
1.Reactive Machines- This is one of the basic forms of AI. It doesn’t have past memory and cannot use past information to information for the future actions. Example:- IBM chess program that beat Garry Kasparov in the 1990s. “Deep Blue versus Garry Kasparov was a pair of six-game chess matches between world chess champion Garry Kasparov and an IBM supercomputer called Deep Blue. The first match was played in Philadelphia in 1996 and won by Kasparov.”
2.Limited memory- AI systems can use past experiences to inform future decisions. Some decision-making functions in self-driving cars are designed in this way. Observations are used to inform actions not taking place in the distant future, such as a car that has changed lanes. These observations are not stored permanently, and Apple’s chatbot Siri as well.
3.Mind theory- This type of AI needs to be able to understand people’s emotions, beliefs, thoughts and expectations and be able to interact socially. There are many improvements in this area, but this kind of AI is not yet perfect.
4.Self-awareness- An AI that has it’s own conscious, super intelligent, self-awareness and sentient (In simple words a complete human being). Of course, this kind of bot also doesn’t exist and if achieved it will be one of the milestones in the field of AI.
The Importance of Artificial Intelligence in this advanced world-
We are a privileged generation to live in this era full of technological advancements. Gone are the days when almost everything was done manually, and now we live in the time where a lot of work is taken over by machines, software, and various automatic processes. There are numerous areas in medical science where AI is used to achieve incredible value. With the help of AI, the medical science was able to create a virtual personal health care assistant. These are used for the research and analysis purposes.
Efficient use in Air transport- Air transport is one of the most systematic transportation systems, and it will not be wrong to say that air transport cannot survive without the use of artificial intelligence. There are numerous functions in the machines and management processes that are controlled by the AI.
Changed the face of gaming- These days, we are able to play TV and computer games on the whole new level; all thanks to the artificial intelligence application. We all remember the time when “Super Mario” was the only game considered as the best. Now there are various gaming bots introduced and these will play with you and provide you the great entertainment. Virtual reality is also one example o artificial intelligence.
A great future ahead as well- Engineers are designing machines by studying the human brains and trying to replicate the human intelligence. Although, it is one of the great challenges in engineering, but still a lot has been accomplished from where we began the journey of artificial intelligence.
